Many of you have commented that it sounds like Al Friesen and co-host Michelle are having fun in the morning. Yes, they are! They also enjoy getting a chance to be a part of what's on the go in Southern Manitoba. Al’s been a director of the Manitoba Curling Association the past couple of years, and is taken with the commitment of the many people who volunteer to make a difference in their home curling club, their home town, or province. That kind of caring is great to witness and relate. Thanks for sharing your stories with us.

While growing up in Steinbach, Michelle Sawatzky established a reputation for her interest in music and athletics. Her sport of choice - volleyball. She followed that road to the pinnacle of any amateur's career, as a member of the 1996 Canadian Olympic Women's volleyball team. Michelle signed on to the morning show team in spring of 1997. Michelle and husband Chris have settled down in Steinbach along with their twins, Paxton Jack and Tyson Zane. The boys seem to be following the sport-loving ways of mom and dad. In spring, it's soccer. In winter, taking swim lessons at the local pool. When she’s not at home trying to keep up with her “three” boys, Michelle is traveling across the country sharing her Olympic experience. She looks forward to meeting you at whatever local events come our way.

Tara Funke is joined by Steve weekdays from 10 to noon. They're also together for the drive home from 4 to 5:30. Tara's a farm girl at heart who also has a passion for sports. She also has a passion for sports. This winter she was in Whitehorse for the 2007 Canada Winter Games. Come spring you'll likely find her back on the golf course. Tara is also busy saving for her ultimate vacation ---- the 2010 winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Steve Fehr splits his day co-hosting late mornings (including Trading Post at 11:30) and afternoon's with Tara Funke. His childhood years were spent on a farm near Rosetown, southwest of Altona. For the past few years he's been enjoying life as a city transplant in Steinbach. A Mennonite Disaster Service veteran, his interests include the St. Louis Cardinals, backyard barbeques, the St. Louis Cardinals, and traveling to St. Louis to watch - you guessed it - the Cardinals. And he loves to laugh!

Terry Klippenstein delivers your early morning news/weather/sports package, weekdays at 5:30. After refilling the coffee mug he swings into the producer's chair for The Morning Show with Al, Michelle and Corinna. He's also responsible for maintaining the web sites for CFAM and AM 1250. This year marked his 25th year with Golden West Radio. A teen-age son and daughter keep him and wife Rhona on their toes at home. Avid interests include digital photography, reading, and watching movies.

Derek Heide produces the Manitoba Farm Journal with farm broadcaster Chris Sumner. He joined CFAM in 2007 as our Summer Events Co-ordinator. Derek's career in radio could take him in several directions. He's a big pro sports fan (football and hockey specifically), and enjoys going for a round of golf. As a self-confessed "weather enthusiast," Derek is one the few who gets excited about a severe thunderstorm or tornado watch. His dream of beconing a play-by-play sportscaster may be close at hand – listen for his voice on our sister station's (CKMW) Zone 4 High School hockey broadcasts.
